Dragonball GT Episode 25 (Aired 10/9/96)
Taihen da!! Chikyuu ni Bebii ga Arawareta Oh no!! Baby Has Appeared on Earth
[New character: Paris-chan: A teenaged redhead girl that Goten asks out on a date. She is very naive, but seems sincerely interested in Goten as a boyfriend.]
We are back on Earth, inside Capsule Corp. Chichi is embarrassed over the fact that, while she had dragged Goten along from their home in the countryside to spend time with Bulma, Goten is actually concentrating on his love talk with his girlfriend over his cell phone. And, Vejiita is shaving off his mustache, anticipating some kind of reaction from his visitors. Goten sets up a date with Paris-chan in Satan City, and leaves the room, with Bulma wishing him luck, and Chichi telling him to be careful out there. Vejiita wants Goten's reaction to his new look, but Goten is in a hurry and doesn't notice anything unusual. Bulma notices, and says that he looks better without the mustache. This embarrasses him in front of Chichi. Chichi hadn't known that he'd had a mustache, and Bulma tells her of a time long ago when Vejiita had tried to grow a 'stache, and Bulma's response to give up on it. The girls laugh over this (in Japan, facial hair is not considered fashionable) and Vejiita pledges to kill them both. Chichi and Bulma then get wistful, thinking that Gokuu and friends only have four more months to find the Dragon Balls and save Earth. Chichi hopes that Pan is ok, and Bulma says not to worry, with Gokuu around. Elsewhere, Gokuu finds the next Dragon Ball, but disturbs the giant cat-creature guarding it by tripping and pulling off the cat's whisker. There is a short chase up a cliff, and a beautiful Bug's Bunny-style "look below you" gag. The cat hits the ground below, sees tweeting birds, and tries to attack the birds. The heroes now have the #7 Ball, and only need two more. On Earth, a blond-haired bodybuilder type is causing severe destruction, disrupting a bank robbery while asking the robbers if they know where the Saiya-jin are. Anyone that doesn't give the right answer is killed (the bank explodes.) Goten has gotten an ice cream cone (AKA - soft cream in Japan) for Paris-chan. Paris-chan is a very cute, well-coifed redhead that is apparently from the countryside. She's never seen ice cream before, and thinks that she needs a spoon to eat it. When she first starts to lick the ice cream, Goten thinks that she is really cute. But, the exploding bank nearby distracts them, and Paris-chan wonders if this is a holiday fireworks. Goten replies that it is not a festival, but it's nothing to be concerned over. (Paris-chan is using VERY polite "women's" language.)
[Commercial Message]
The blond guy is causing more damage and panic until Mr. Satan yells out over this disruption to his city. Satan is getting really bald. He jumps down from the roof that he is on, and wrenches his ankle at the landing. His citizens think that this is a very lame act, until Satan pretends to have been hit by a punch that was too fast for anyone else to see. One guy comments that if the punch was that fast, Satan is in trouble, so Our Savior yells at the blond for damaging the city that he protects. The blond asks if Satan is a Saiya-jin, and Satan repeats the question "you mean, a blond-haired super powerful Saiya-jin?" The blond says "you're not it" and prepares to blow up Satan with his laser vision. Satan evades the blast, but just barely. There is now a big hole in the street. Meanwhile, Paris-chan says that the ice cream was delicious, and Goten tries to decide on what to buy next. Goten finds Satan, and Our Savior quickly recovers, claiming that he will give his student -- Goten -- a chance to demonstrate how well he understands the training Satan has given him. Goten wants the police to handle the problem, since he is in the middle of a date. Unfortunately, Paris-chan is now talking to the blond hunk. Paris-chan gives the wrong answer, and Goten rushes to save her from the laser attack. Paris-chan is ok, and she mentions that the guy was asking about "Saiya-jin." She's impressed by Goten's strength, while the boy wonders over who could know about Saiya-jin. Two people in the crowd suddenly step out and try to attack Goten. They laugh stupidly, and rush in -- Goten throws his date into the air, defeats the attackers, and catches Paris-chan. She thinks that the boy is just imitating something that her father used to do when she was a child. The police arrive to take the prisoners, and Satan takes the credit, telling the citizens that the city is safe while he is protecting it. However, another guy in the crowd is suddenly, violently possessed. Goten wants to continue the date, but feels another enemy's ki. He gets smashed, and says "so, you have a bit of power, eh." But, he fails to stand up when he senses a very strong ki. The new attacker collapses as Baby leaves his body and shows his current new form. Baby has been collecting peoples' energy, and now looks like a silver-skinned teenager with blue eyeballs. Baby comments that Goten's energy feels just like Gokuu's. Paris-chan faints, and is caught by the suddenly gallant Mr. Satan (funny scene.) Goten wants to know who Baby is, and the neo-mutant realizes that the boy is the offspring of little Gokuu -- "How interesting". Baby declares that he wants Goten's power, and the boy tells Satan to run with the unconscious Paris-chan to a safer place. Satan splits. Goten asks if Baby thinks this is going to be easy, and the mutant powers up a bit. A large part of the city gets smashed, Satan panics and runs faster, and Goten (now floating over the city) is angry at the extensive damage.

Gohan to Goten... Sai-aku no kyoudai Genka!? Gohan and Goten... The Worst Brotherly Spat!?
Goten comments that Baby's abilities are not bad, as an insult. Then, he is interrupted when his cell phone rings. Paris-chan asks if he is ok, and Goten reverts to his normal telephone chat style, which makes Baby even more pissed. Paris-chan asks about the roaring sound she hears, and Goten evades Baby's bodyslam attack. The phone flies up into the air. Baby hopes to enter Goten's body and get the "Saiya Power". Goten bashes Baby up a bit, comments on how Baby was probably defeated by Gokuu, and catches the falling cell phone behind his back. Paris-chan thinks that Goten is just super, and he says that he's doing this all for her. Satan shouts out more encouragement to his "student". Baby, hiding in his crater below, fires off a bolt-cutter attack that slices open Goten's biceps. Paris-chan asks if he is ok, Goten replies "I'm fine, don't worry about me", and he hangs up. Goten becomes angry at getting injured in front of his date, and goes SSJ. This pleases Baby (who gets to see the extent of Goten's abilities) and impresses Paris-chan (who thinks that her friend looks pretty.) Goten blows up the city (the shockwave causes Paris-chan's skirt to billow and almost exposes her panties for an instant. Her panties may be orange like her hair and part of the rest of her outfit.) The explosion can be seen from space. Goten thinks that the battle is over, but Baby asks if this is the boy's full ability. Goten fires off a Kamehame-ha. Baby considers this his chance, and he shoots down THROUGH the Kamehame-ha, to Goten's fully exposed wound. The Kamehame-ha flies out into space, and Baby glories over the strength that Trunks had denied him. Bay-ten powers up further, buffeting Mr. Satan with the shockwave. Satan holds on to Paris-chan's waist. Goten approaches them from a cloud of dust. Paris-chan is happy; Satan asks where the "doll-guy" is. Goten frowns, and Satan jumps away from the girl, apologizing. Paris-chan bandages up her friend's arm, asking to continue the date. But, the boy removes the kerchief and throws it on her head as he walks away. Baby could not read Trunks' mind, but he can easily scan Goten's. The neo-mutant realizes that there are several Saiya-jin, and the strongest one is -- Vejiita. Satan tries to butter up to the boy, but is tossed away. Goten flies off. Our Savior thinks that the boy has changed somehow. Paris-chan misunderstands this to mean that her kerchief had caused the boy's wound to be healed. She is happy, and Satan is stunned at her incredible naivete. Baby thinks that with Vejiita's power, he will be able to take over Trunks, and then ultimately conquer Gokuu. And, on yet another planet, the three heroes and Gill search for the next Dragon Ball. The Ball appears to be located deep in a big lake. A lake occupied by a huge dinosaur. Gokuu crawls under the beast while Pan tells it to spit the Ball out of its mouth. Gokuu is then inside the beast (guess how ;-) ) and he finds the Ball. He pushes his way out through the dinosaur's belly, causing the monster to deflate like a balloon. Later, Pan apologizes to the dinosaur, which now stands 4 inches tall, and puts a Band-Aid on its tummy. The heroes laugh over this turn of events, and they now have the #3 Ball. Back on the ship, Pan is celebrating in a Mexican dancer's outfit and recording her party on a video tape labeled "Pan's Diary". Trunks happily says "just one more." But Gokuu is depressed, thinking that they should have run into Baby again by this time. Trunks agrees, while Pan believes that Trunks should be happy to never see the body-snatching mutant again. (A close-up of the Dragon Balls shows that they are still missing the #2 Ball.) On Earth, Piccolo is meditating next to a giant waterfall. He becomes alert on noticing a strange ki.
[Commercial Message]
Chichi is staring at a bunch of clocks, impatient that Goten is slow on reporting in. Bulma replies that this is after all a date, but Chichi is worried that Goten's girlfriend might be doing something bad to her precious boy. Bulma gets a call, telling her that there are guests at the front door. When Bulma turns to talk to her friend, Chichi has vanished. The frantic mother rushes to the lobby (this time, the inside of Capsule Corp. looks like a big hotel or company HQ building) repeating "Goten, Goten". But, the guests are Gohan and his wife Beederu. Chichi smashes into some furniture. Beederu had gotten a call from her father, Mr. Satan, and she and Gohan had decided to come to Capsule Corp. Gohan mentions that Goten might have gotten roughed up, which causes Chichi to go ballistic. Before running off to find his little brother, Gohan asks for a room to put his luggage in. Chichi is still angry, and gets hit in the back of the head when Goten enters the room. Chichi is relieved, but Goten pushes her away and asks where "Vejiita is". Chichi slaps Goten for not saying "Vejiita-san". Baby contemplates devouring all of these no-power Earthlings, but decides to hold off until he can find his target. Baby follows Earth protocol, and asks where "Vejiita-san" is. Chichi slaps him again for not using the more polite form "Vejiita-san wa dochira desu ka?" Goten shouts out the question again, fully expecting to get slapped once more. Bulma answers that Vejiita had left some time ago, and Baby almost loses his patience. Gohan returns, and Baby thinks that Goten's brother's power would help him take over Vejiita. He sucker punches Gohan, taunting the other man into fighting back, and Chichi tells them that if they are going to bicker that they have to take it outside. Bulma and Beederu both think something is wrong, but Chichi comments that it's ok for brothers to fight each other occasionally. Gohan assures his wife that everything will be fine and he'll be back soon. Out in the wilds, Gohan says that he held off saying anything to avoid worrying Chichi, but this isn't really Goten. Baby answers in the affirmative, powers up, and attacks. He thinks that maybe Gohan is not so strong after all. Then, when Gohan appears uninjured from the blast, Baby realizes that the man would make a great housing for him. Gohan guesses that something has possessed his brother's body. They fight a little, and Baby wonders why his enemy isn't powering up. Gohan, however, doesn't want to mess up Goten's body to reach the real enemy. Baby challenges him to show his true power, and starts powering up past SSJ level. The resulting energy ball does great damage to the plate tectonics, and Gohan yells out to Goten to stop this. Gohan is forced by the shockwave to go SSJ, and while he is vulnerable during the power-up, Baby switches bodies with him. Baby triumphs. Then, Piccolo's trademark magic attack zips by Baby-han, and Piccolo (holding Goten's limp body) demands that whatever has entered Gohan's body come back out and fight him. Baby comments on the Namek's low-level energy, and dismisses the Namek as ignorable. Bay-han fires a Kamehame-ha that cuts an "X" into the crater, and seemingly wipes out Piccolo and Goten. Baby decides that Piccolo is out of the picture, and the only challenge left on Earth to face is Vejiita. He bids Vejiita to come to him.
---------------------------- Dragonball GT Episode 27 (Aired 10/23/96)
Yabou kansei!? Nottorareta Bejiita Ambition Achieved!? Vejiita Possessed.
As mentioned in the notes by Ed Gorgon and Wuken, the opening animation has been altered, though the music is the same. We get to see Perfect Baby and SSJ4 Gokuu.
Vejiita and Bra are out driving in the midst of Bra's shopping spree. Bra mentions that this is the first time they've done this, and asks what her daddy bought. He refuses to answer, but it looks like a shaving kit (with a picture of robot-Toriyama shaving on the cover). Then, two goons drive up and ask Bra to dump her "date with the old man" and join them. Vejiita rips out their steering wheel and the goons go off a cliff into the bay. Bra yells out that her father is very strong, and that she is too busy shopping to mess with them (Vejiita is not impressed with her.) At Capsule Corp., Chichi, Bulma and Videl are hovering over the sick form of Goten lying on the couch. He is unconscious and seems to be struggling with something. Chichi doesn't understand what is wrong. Gohan-Baby senses Vejiita and gets up to leave the room. Chichi and Videl want him to stay at least until after supper, but the scholar heads for the door. Videl confronts her husband, but Gohan-Baby issues a spark that blows out some lamps, tells his wife to shut up, and leaves the room. G-B steps on Gohan's glasses, and says that he's found Vegiita. Chichi collapses, yelling for Gokuu to hurry back home. On the CC ship, Gokuu sneezes, not because people are talking about him but because of the cold. Gill has discovered the last Dragon Ball on a frozen planet, and Gokuu is the only one not wearing a warm coat (Gill is wearing it.) He sneezes on Trunks, and Pan tells her father to cover/wipe his nose. (The planet they are going to seems to be called "Rei-to".) Gohan-Baby is flying over a desert, happy with the great power he's gotten from his new host, and he tells Vejiita to wait for him. In the car, Bra is happy that her father has been with her so long, and predicts that Bulma will be furious with them. Vejiita panic brakes to avoid the flashes in front of them. Bra berates him for this, then sees Gohan standing on a wind mill. Bra can't believe that Gohan is going to attack, but Vejiita can. Gohan-Baby blows up the car, and is pleased at how easily Vejiita avoided the blast. Vejiita asks who the alien is, and Bra is convinced that this is still their friend. She lashes out at Gohan for not apologizing, and wants him to pay for new stuff. Gohan-Baby realizes that she is also partially Saiya-jin, but Vejiita throws his daughter away into the air before G-B can act. Vejiita tells her to go home, and she tries to argue before giving up and leaving. Gohan-Baby settles for fighting only Vejiita, who asks again who Gohan really is. G-B asks if the "Saiya-jin" has really forgotten him. Vejiita laughs, remembering the "Tsufuru-jin". G-B is happy at this, and attacks. In Capsule Corp., Goten recovers and asks where "Paris-chan" is. Chichi is all over her boy in relief, and he asks for water. Chichi worries over his dry/sore throat. When Goten drinks the water, he goes into spasms. He announces that he has to go outside. Chichi tries to make him stay and rest, and he pushes her away before flying off. Chichi is upset at losing her other son, and Goten seems to be possessed again.
[First eye-catch: Everyone piles into a jeep before Gokuu and a dragon crush the jeep.]
[Commercial Message]
[Second eye-catch: Everyone drives away, leaving the dragon behind.]
Vejiita remembers that the Tsufuru-jin were lousy fighters, then Gohan-Baby wipes up the road with Vejiita's face. G-B again says that he likes this Saiya-jin's power, and rushes forward to take over Vejiita's body. The Saiya-jin Prince attacks back, saying that he won't be defeated by a Tsufuru-jin, and the two badger each other (Vejiita's enemy is still only Kakarot.) They fire massive energy blasts at each other. The resulting chaos destroys some of the wind mills in this wind mill field. The battle is fast and furious, and Gohan-Baby is pleased that Vejiita is significantly better than Gohan. Goten arrives, and Vejiita tells him to stay out of the way. Goten immediately asks if that is Gohan, and the older brother says "yes, your older brother." Vejiita tells the boy to leave, and Goten does that, then fires an energy ball at the Prince's back. Goten asks Vejiita who it is that he's really here to rescue. Gohan-Baby laughs at Vejiita's reaction. There is more fighting, before Vejiita is surrounded by the two enemy. Vejiita attacks but keeps missing because, as G-B says, Vejiita can't accurately sense their Ki's anymore. Vejiita starts powering up past SSJ, and G-B goads him on. The energy sphere around the Prince destroys more wind mills and pushes the two enemy away. But, Baby had abandoned his hosts, and the Tsufuru-jin enters Vejiita's body through all of the cuts he has. Vejiita takes a while to realize that he has been invaded. Baby takes pleasure in Vejiita's inability to move, as part of the revenge for all of the dead Tsufuru-jin. In a flashback, we are told that Planet Plant was a peaceful place until it was rained on by hundreds of Saiya single-person space capsules. Under the full moon, the giant were-monkeys (Ouzaru) took over the planet and destroyed whole cities. King Vejiita (Vejiita's father) killed many of the Tsufuru. The remaining surviving scientist put his soul/essence into a "seed" and fired it into space (where it was found by Dr. Myuu.) Vejiita asks what this has to do with Goten, and it turns out that when Baby enters someone, he leaves an "egg" in the victim. This allows Baby to maintain control after he has switched hosts. This has happened to both Goten and Gohan. Eventually, Vejiita is conquered by his own egg, and Vejiita-Baby looks forward to taking over the entire planet of Earth. The only person Baby intends to kill is -- Gokuu. And, on the ice planet, a semi-frozen Gokuu falls through a snow bank and locates the last Dragon Ball (#2). The three adventurers happily leave the ice planet to return home. On Earth, Vejiita-Baby's energy is causing the wind mills to turn. And, the narrator asks Gokuu to hurry back, although it won't be the same planet anymore.
Note: The closing animation is completely different.

Gokuu kaeru... Chikyuu wa zenbu ora no teki!? Gokuu Returns... "All of Earth is My Enemy!?"
The ship nears Earth, and Gokuu and Pan rejoice. Pan is starting to claim all of the credit for finding both the Dragon Balls and Gill. Gokuu wants to stop at Kami-sama's tower first, so they do. Gokuu begins by complementing Dende for looking healthy, but Pan interrupts to hand over the Balls. Dende knows better, and Pan berates the Namek for doubting that she'd done all of the work. Then there is an argument over what Shenlon will be asked to do -- Pan wants Gokuu to be returned to normal, while everyone else wants to save the Earth. (Gokuu has no problem with remaining young, and doesn't fear Chichi's reaction when she finds out.) After one wish, the Balls will fly away and take one year to recover (after that, whatever problem that people want to fix that is over one year old will not be fixable via the Balls.) Finally, Pan gives the Balls to Mr. Poppo, and the heroes prepare to return home. Gill and Trunks plan to return to Capsule Corp., and Pan and Gokuu plan to go back to their countryside house. (Pan wants Gill to tell her version of how things went on their trip.) And as a reward for helping so much, Pan gives Gill her scarf and her "first kiss". Gill blushes. They leave, and Dende evilly grins as he plans to give the Balls to "Baby-sama." An angry crowd has gathered outside Mr. Satan's mansion. Buu realizes that Gokuu and Pan have returned, and Satan -- hidden safely inside a cyst in Buu -- rejoices. Satan wants to fight, while Buu was expecting to run away. Satan wants to go outside to meet Gokuu, then is told that the heroes are still out in space. The two leave the mansion, with Buu blowing the mob out of the way. Satan tries to figure out this business about the "Tsufuru-jin egg", and Buu tells him that Baby's egg is inside nearby; Satan sees it throbbing in its own cyst. Buu hates the feeling and spits the egg out. They are now confronted by another mob. Satan asks if anyone in the mob is controlled by Baby. Buu says "no", and adds that the humans are all at normal human strength. Satan asks to be spit out to fight the crowd. He quickly beats them up, which only makes the mob mad. Buu has to rescue Satan, and they fly off. At the Son home, Gokuu and Pan receive the cold shoulder treatment from Videl and Chichi. There's lots of food on the table, but Gokuu is not allowed to eat, and Pan's bragging is ignored. Chichi and Videl act like zombies, cooking and washing dishes. In Capsule Corp., Trunks and Gill arrive to an empty garage. Trunks can understand this treatment from Vejiita, but not from Bulma. Suddenly, Gill yells out "Danger, danger!"
[Commercial Message]
Trunks thinks that the robot is just sensing Vejiita, and believes that this is indeed the correct response to the Saiyan Prince. They start heading into the building, and Vejiita is there to tell them that they are late. Vejiita already knows where the Dragon Balls are, and tells his son to come inside. They reach Bulma's room. Bulma says "You are a bad boy -- Vejiita, punish him." She leaves the room, and Baby reveals himself a little bit. Trunks doesn't recognize the monster, but Gill attacks him with a pair of missiles. Baby calls Gill a traitor; Trunks realizes what is happening and tells Gill to escape. The robot launches two more rockets. Vejiita-Baby easily destroys the rockets and blows Gill against the far wall. The robot lies on the ground, covered in sparks. Vejiita-Baby announces Trunks' new birthday, reminding him of their last encounter. Trunks also has an egg in him. The egg is activated, and Trunks struggles against it. Back in the country, Gokuu complains that Chichi is still angry, and Pan is growing more confused. Then, Goten and Gohan arrive, saying that the food is for them. Gokuu realizes that something is wrong, as the brothers keep talking about him as "Saiya-jin". They decide to switch to "that form" and go SSJ to welcome Gokuu and Pan back. Pan panicks, asking Videl for help. Chichi tells her boys to kill Gokuu. The power-up blows the roof from the house. Gokuu asks if they are worried about Earth blowing up, and the two brothers answer "Earth? What about it?" They attack. Pan asks if this is her reward for trying so hard to save Earth. Her father replies by firing an energy blast at her. Gokuu intercepts the blast, and they are thrown to the ground. Pan passes out, thinking that she has been a bad child and had done something wrong. Gokuu fails to correct her thinking and decides to fight back. He asks if this is really Gohan, and the man acts innocent. He replies "from the looks of it, yes." Goten says "I am Goten Son." He shoots Gokuu from behind. Gokuu easily blocks the blast and says that he didn't think Goten was that kind of person. Gohan replies that Gokuu, a "Saiya-jin" shouldn't talk. The boy answers that he is an Earthling, not a Saiya-jin. Goten doesn't care, and the brothers start punching their dad. Gokuu gets mad and gets serious. But, Gohan and Goten withstand the beating, cackle, and prepare to blast away again. Gokuu had given them their chance and he goes into Kamehame-ha. Satan shouts out for Gokuu to stop. With Satan is Buu, holding Pan. Satan tells Gokuu that Baby has taken over the two Saiyan-halfs, and has controlled the rest of humanity in the same way. Gokuu thinks about this, while Gohan and Goten wait expectantly. Behind our hero is also Vejiita-Baby. V-B wants to know what Gokuu will do now that he knows that Vejiita has also been controlled. The narrator tells us that the revenge battle between Saiya-jin and Tsufuru-jin is about to begin.

Chou Yabai!? Suupaa Saiyajin 3 yabureru!! This is Really Bad!? Supper Saiya-jin 3 Fails!!
The Son house is in ruins, and Satan is waiting to see if Gokuu will fall for the trap. Vejiita-Baby goads our hero by claiming that all of Earth will be controlled by Tsufuru-jin. Satan yells out that Baby can't get into Buu, and therefore Baby is lying. Gokuu comments that Satan is the same as ever, and Our Savior yells back that this is why Gokuu should listen to him and not fight. Vejiita-Baby now understands "the Fat One's" secret and decides to simply kill him. V-B blasts the Earth. Buu narrowly rescues Satan before flying off. Gokuu asks Buu to see to Pan; Buu agrees. Satan taunts Vejiita-Baby for not killing him, and Buu uses Its magic to turn Satan and Pan into cookies and eats them. Gohan intends to shoot Buu, but Vejiita-Baby stops him and reminds the brothers that the real target is Gokuu. V-B asks if Gokuu can fight his own children, which is not a problem for our hero. V-B and Gokuu trade punches a bit, and it looks like Vejiita has gotten much stronger lately. One of V-B's blasts creates a new inland sea. Then, Trunks and Bra fly up. Gokuu warns Trunks of the danger. Unfortunately, it's too late. Both Trunks and Bra show a serious case of red eye (proving that Baby controls them.) Trunks claims that he is not the same person he was the day before, and announces that Baby is his master. Our hero realizes that Kami-sama has also been controlled and that all of Earth is his enemy. He doesn't understand how this is happening, but he accepts it as is. Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Bra move in to pummel Gokuu, but Vejiita-Baby tells them to not interfere. This is fine by Gokuu too. Vejiita-Baby powers up and Gokuu goes SSJ3. Vejiita-Baby looks very punk now, while Gokuu looks like a mini version of his old SSJ3 self. V-B asks if that is the best that Gokuu can do, or should he wait a little longer? They fight. The planet gets trashed, and V-B easily holds his ground to Gokuu's concern. Gokuu has not been this excited over a fight in a long time, but on his next pass, he loses his powers. Vejiita-Baby asks what's wrong, adding that SSJ3 is over now. The boy guesses that his small body doesn't have the power to hold the SSJ3 level. Vejiita-Baby fires off another blast, to send Gokuu to Hell.
[Commercial Message]
But, Gokuu isn't finished yet. He wants to go mano-a-mano. Vejiita-Baby beats up the boy a bit, and our hero keeps chuckling with each new pounding -- a gleam growing in his eye. Eventually, unable to move, Gokuu admits that Vejiita-Baby is strong. The monster claims that he can still get stronger, and wants to show off before killing the boy once and for all. V-B tells Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Bra to give him their Saiya power. The four link hands and revolve around their master. They go red eye, and the skies go just as red. V-B goes to Super Baby -- Vejiita's body gets bulkier and becomes part of a uniform with heat-shedding fins. The four run out of power, and Super Vejiita-Baby revels in the glow. Gokuu keeps chuckling, saying that he can feel SV-B's great power -- but he still won't lose to Baby. SV-B starts pounding him again. SV-B demands the power from all his other Tsufuru-human subjects in order to attain his perfect form. SV-B bulks up more, and his uniform is now a black layer over his skin, with yellow fins and boots, and a Freeza-style fighting jacket over his chest. The excess energy forms the "Tsufuru Black Revenge". Perfect Vejiita-Baby calls out "Revenge Death Ball" and propels it at Gokuu. The boy curses, unable to move. The Revenge Death Ball sinks into the Earth and blows up. Somewhere in the artic wastes, Buu sees the dark red cloud on the horizon. Vejiita-Baby laughs, having his final revenge. Buu tells the two cysts inside him that the loud explosion they heard came from a big blast, and that Gokuu's ki has disappered. Gokuu seems to be dead. Vejiita-Baby plans to repopulate the universe with Tsufuru-jin. And, the narrator asks that if Gokuu is dead, who will save the Earth?

Dragonball GT Episode 30 (Aired 11/13/96)
Gokuu shoumetsu!? Ora wa shinjimatta da Gokuu Has Passed On!? "I'm Dead."
Buu spits out Satan -- he revels in his new freedom until succumbing to gravity. Pan is crying over Gokuu's death. Vejiita-Baby takes his position on a floating stone throne, and Dende hands over the Dragon Balls. Since he has everything else that he wants, Vejiita-Baby summons Shenlon and wishes for a planet to be placed next to Earth that is just like Plant used to be. (Buu asks if it is night already.) Planet is created complete with buildings, but with no people. Shenlon bids them farewell and the Balls fly away. Pan collapses, realizing that Earth will explode when one year is up, and Satan panicks at this thought. Buu is more blase, having been through this before, and thinking that things can be fixed afterwards. Satan tells Pan that while they are still alive, that she should remain cheerful. But, her silent cries are heard by Gokuu and he wakes up. A small blue-skinned, big headed dwarf named Suguro appears and hassles Gokuu ("Suguro-ku" could be "6 again", or "I am the best.") The rest of this exchange has Gokuu claiming that he is "Gokuu", not some kid. Suguro is the host of a parody of Japanese game shows. Gokuu isn't dead yet, but that will be determined by the outcome of the game. They each take turns throwing a die and moving on a 3-D game board. Suguro is friends with the creature posing as the die, so he keeps landing on the good squares, while Gokuu hits the bad ones (often, the bad squares include having to answer questions that Gokuu doesn't understand.) But, while the penalty for a wrong answer is death, Gokuu keeps evading the traps. (Suguro has been in this purgatory for millions of years. There haven't been any visitors for a long while, which has given Suguro lots of free time.) Gokuu initially thinks that the game will be fun, which is why he decides to play along.
[Commercial Message]
Turns out that Kaiou-bit had tried to rescue Gokuu in the previous episode, but the Revenge Death Ball had disrupted his teleport and he'd lost Gokuu while warping. Kaiou-bit teleports to Dai Kaiou-shin's planet (where the old coot is fishing) to ask for help. However, even Dai Kaiou-shin can't do anything about Suguro-ku (the name of the purgatory), so he tells Kaiou-bit to stop interferring with his fishing. On Earth, Vejiita-Baby and his minions gather at Capsule Corp., where Bulma is unveiling her giant machine (purpose is to get the minions to New Plant, but the operation is unknown. The machine looks like a big black version of the Capsule Corp. building.) Pan sees Trunks with the others and yells out, but Satan stops her and says that Trunks has also been controlled. Pan cries some more.
(In the first square of the game, Gokuu has to return to START. In the second, he has to answer questions he doesn't understand. In the third, he has to keep from shedding tears -- from chopped onions and from a giant hypodermic needle wielded by Chichi. Later, he has to jump to floating islands over a lava pit on command. Gokuu asks why he's the only one to get the bad squares, and Suguro answers that it's a matter of luck. The narrator sums up the situation, and Vejiita-Baby claims that the galaxy is now his for the taking. The narrator yells out for Gokuu to hurry -- this is no time for games.

Atto odoroku!? Suguroku kuukan dai houkai What the...!? The Sky of Suguro-ku Studio is Collapsing
Gokuu evades more lava by jumping up to a higher section of the game route, and Suguro asks him what he's doing there. The blue-skinned one reminds the boy of where the goal is, and Gokuu returns to throw the die again. This time, the die falls down to the lava by accident. It stops just above the molten rock and screams back up to where Gokuu is. Gokuu heard the die say "it's hot", while Suguro claims that dice can't talk. The boy prepares to throw the die at the lava again, and it yells "stop this!", while turning into a green raccoon with a pointy head. It runs back to the blue guy, calling him "father". Suguro tells the raccoon to become a dice again so he can reach the goal. Suguro panics and reverts to his true shape as a larger green raccoon (tanuki == "Japanese raccoon." Tanuki are famous in Japanese folk tales as being shape-changing tricksters.) Gokuu calls Suguro a fake, and all of the board's game pieces start chanting "fake, fake." One voice calls out that it hates fakes, and the building begins breaking up as a form of punishment. Gokuu rescues the two tanuki and heads for the goal. Suguro asks why the boy is rescuing them, adding that they (the two frauds) are "Space Tanuki." Gokuu doesn't care who they are -- and he nearly makes it to the goal before it also collapses. Gokuu discovers that he can power up now, and he flies after the two tanuki as they fall to some distant "floor" below. The boy catches them, and prepares Kamehame-ha while Suguro wonders how such a small body can hold so much power. Suguro panics over the upcoming "showdown", then tells Gokuu to go for it. The boy fires away, blowing a hole in the black dome surrounding the disintegrating playing field. Kaiou-bit senses Gokuu's ki again, as falling rock threatens the boy. Kaiou-bit teleports in and then back to Dai Kaiou-shin's planet, carrying all three passengers. Gokuu notices that Dai Kaiou-shin hasn't changed since they last met, while Kaiou-bit comments that Gokuu has changed a lot recently. Suguro thanks them for saving him and his son. Gokuu asks why they are on Dai Kaiou-shin's planet.
[Commercial Break]
Satan and Buu watch on as the new Tsufuru-jin start boarding the big Capsule Corp. ship. Satan almost gives them away as he complains about Videl's having been possessed as well. Pan discovers Gill's broken body, and cries over the robot's crushed shell. She puts it in her pack and put her scarf back on her head (she'd given it to Gill as a present.) Pan returns to Satan, and says that they're going to go rescue her parents. Satan loves the idea, but he has no idea how to do this without being discovered. Pan smiles. On Dai Kaiou-shin's planet, Kaiou-bit looks in the old coot's crystal ball, telling Gokuu what has been happening on Earth. Gokuu is surprised to hear that Dende had been controlled by Baby, and Dai Kaiou-shin tries making a joke about "God" being possessed. Kaiou-bit misses the punchline. Gokuu wants to go to Earth to fight, but Dai Kaiou-shin tells him that he's too weak to beat Baby right now, not being able to hold SSJ-3. Gokuu objects until Kaiou-bit suggests that they might be able to train the boy. While on Earth, a handsome Buu admires Itself in a mirror. It jumps in line, and entrances the girl ahead of It. The guy behind them complains, and turns out to be Kuririn. The old runt doesn't recognize Buu, and dismisses It's statement that It is carrying 2 people inside It (Pan and Satan are safely encysted) as just being strange. Kuririn acts gallant, allowing Buu to stay in line. Bulma comes along, counting out 100 people. Buu is the final one allowed onto the ship to go to Planet Plant. Kuririn yells out that he wants to get onboard, too. #18 and Marron also get stranded on Earth. The ship lifts off, and #18 insults Kuririn as really being "a Kuririn." Gokuu's training consists of turning a giant coffee grinder with one arm. The boy thinks that the old coot is just doing this to get some ground coffee. He complains that his butt itches, which is all part of the old coot's plan. Gokuu starts grinding coffee really fast, with the coot telling him to go faster. The Capsule Corp. ship lands on Plant, and the travellers see Baby and start cheering for him. Buu slips away, changes his face back to normal, and lets Pan and Satan back out. Pan has medicine that she thinks will make Baby's egg leave her mother's body. She gives a vial each to Buu and Satan, and runs off. Satan would rather wait and do more planning. The Tsufuru-jin spot Pan and yell "kill Baby's enemy!" Pan throws pills at the Tsufuru-jin until Videl flies in and kicks Pan to the ground. Pan wants her mother to take one of the pills, but gets slapped away. Pan's parents berate her for not accepting Baby's egg; calling Pan a problem child. Baby floats down, saying that a problem child like this should be killed, and Videl and Gohan agree. Gokuu wonders how much more coffee has to be ground, as Dai Kaiou-shin looks at porno mags. Gokuu sees via the crystal ball that Pan is about to die, and he wants to rescue her. The old coot can't help them yet. And, Gohan takes his daughter by the throat and prepares to blast her to death. Suddenly, Gohan is knocked away and Pan is saved. The narrator asks who it was that did this, adding that it was Uubu.

Gokuu o kaese!! Ikari no senshi Uubu Gokuu Returns!! Angry Fighter Uubu
----------------------------
Note that there was a DBZ special on 12/18/96. The first part was a repeat of "100 Billion Power Fighter"; the second Cooler movie. The second part was a list of final moments -- scenes where Gokuu defeats Freeza, and Buu, ending with Gokuu taking on Vejiita-Baby. The 12/25/97 episode was apparently pre-empted by a seasonal special.
----------------------------
New Character Kudagari -- Suguro's shape-changing son. A space tanuki. Named here for the first time.
Baby comments on Uubu's being yet another Earthling that had been overlooked by his eggs. Uubu tells Pan that he'd been monitoring events, and had noticed that Gokuu's ki had disappeared. He asks Pan if Gokuu is dead. Baby takes credit for killing Gokuu, and Uubu flashes back to his last fight with Gokuu in Dende's tower. At the end of the fight, Gokuu had promised to meet with Uubu again one year later. Uubu is angry that Baby has prevented Gokuu from keeping his promise, and he powers up, flying to confront Baby. Pan tries to stop Uubu, but has to face her own parents instead. Videl and Gohan want Pan to go with them and join Baby. The Tsufuru-jin that ate Pan's pills are groaning with stomach aches, while Buu stands in the middle of them and says "Uubu." Baby plans on killing Uubu, and they fight. The resulting damage to buildings causes people to run for cover. Baby believes that Uubu is no stronger than Gokuu, and expects an easy victory. He prepares a larger energy ball attack, and Uubu fires off a quick blast to smash Baby into the wall. Uubu rushes in to keep fighting, but Gohan, Goten, and Trunks fly up to protect their master. This only angers Baby further, since it implies that the three think he's weak and will lose against Uubu. Baby blasts the interlopers, sending them through the far wall and somewhere outside the city. Uubu is surprised by this reaction. Pan cries for her father. On Dai Kaiou-shin's planet, Gokuu is watching the crystal ball, and he again asks to be returned to the battle. The old coot drinks some coffee (the cup has his picture on it) and complains about the bad taste. He asks if Gokuu is willing to undertake a very painful and stressful form of power up, and the boy says "sure." The old coot then tells the boy to drop his pants. Gokuu asks why, and the old coot strips him to reveal a skin-covered stubby protrusion at the base of Gokuu's spine. Dai Kaiou-shin tells Kaiou-bit that Gokuu's tail is starting to grow out, and must be assisted to accellerate the process. Without the tail, Gokuu's powers will be limited. The old coot wants Kaiou-bit to get a pair of pliers, which Kaiou-bit doesn't have. Suguro volunteers to help, and tells his boy -- Kudagari -- to get started. The little tanuki happily turns into a large pair of pincers. Gokuu is dismayed to learn that is tail is going to be painfully extracted from his butt, but he eventually agrees to it. Dai Kaiou-shin grins evilly.
[Comercial break]
Baby and Uubu keep fighting, looking about even-up. Baby compliments Uubu a bit, then says that it's not enough to defeat him. They go into an energy blast showdown, with Baby upping his power output. Uubu is overpowered, evades most of the blast, gets hit, and drops down to the feet of Pan, Buu and Satan. Baby is annoyed that the fight is over so soon. Pan gets pissed that not only has her father been controlled, but Uubu has fallen as well. She attacks, and has absolutely no effect on the monster. She puts Satan into a panic, though. Satan tells Buu that with Videl under Baby's control, Pan is all that he has left. Buu comments that Satan and Uubu's most precious people are in danger, and It catches Pan when Baby bats her out of the sky. Buu says that the unconscious girl is ok, and hands her to Satan. Satan wants to escape now, as Baby prepares a Revenge Death Ball to kill Uubu with. Satan asks what is happening on the ground as Buu flies away with him. Buu answers that the Tsufuru-jin are giving their energy to Baby, just as they did when Gokuu was defeated. Buu flies Pan and Satan to a safe distance from the city, and tells the Savior of the World that It loves him. There's a flashback showing the scene when Satan had beat up the two humans that had shot Buu's puppy; which is when Buu and Satan had become friends. But, while Buu and Satan are friends, Buu feels a stronger link to Uubu. It flies off to save Uubu, waving goodbye to Satan. Baby launches the RDB to finish off Uubu just like he'd wasted Gokuu. Uubu can't move, but Buu arrives to inhale the RDB. The RDB blows up inside of Buu, and destroys part of the city. Baby thinks that Uubu is dead either way, and he hops in Bulma's skimmer to go to her control tower. Uubu is still alive, but hurting badly, and he asks who it was that saved him. He doesn't recognize Buu at all. Buu's spirit appears, and Uubu feels that he's known Buu from a long time ago. Buu tells him of his family line. There was a thin Buu, an evil Buu, and a Fat Buu. Then came Uubu. Now, there will be one more version of Buu: They merge. Uubu is healed, and he's happy at the greater power he now feels (Ultimate Uubu is very buff, and wears a black vest, and white pants tucked into yellow boots.) He thinks he can defeat Baby now. On Dai Kaiou-shin's planet, Gokuu is complaining at the pain as the others pull out his tail (about two inches of furry tail can be seen now.) Baby is on parade, and his people cheer him on as Bulma drives their master in the skimmer. Baby senses Uubu's approach, and they prepare to fight again. The narrator tells us that Vejiita-Baby and the changed Uubu are ready to fight, and hopes that Gokuu's tail will be extracted soon.

Note: A long time ago, there was a powerful being named "Kaiou-shin", and his assistant, "Kibit". When they merged, Toriyama never really gave them a name, so I called the new creature "Kaiou-bit". In DBGT episode 32, Dai Kaiou-shin refers to Kaiou-bit as "Kibito". Kibito seems to be the same name as "Kibit". I don't know what the correct name should be. Until I get a good answer, I will keep using "Kaiou-bit".

Gokuu is still in pain, as the others struggle to pull his tail out. The boy asks what is happening on the crystal ball, and escapes the pincers to get a better look. Impressed at Uubu's new power, Gokuu grabs a boulder and asks the old coot to pull out his tail faster. The old coot asks for Suguro's help, and the space tanuki turns into a rope to tie Gokuu in place. Then, Kaiou-bit, the old coot, and Suguro (a continuity error here?) keep yanking as Gokuu keeps yells in pain. Baby tells his people to move back. Uubu starts bulking up. Baby is expecting to have some real fun this time, but Uubu's new powers surprise him and he gets pounded. Uubu announces that he's merged with Buu, and slams Baby into the ground. Uubu tries to turn Baby into chocolate, but Baby escapes. Lots of bystanders get converted instead. Uubu apologizes and promises to turn the people back into humans later. Uubu attacks with a neat series of guided energy beams that turn into a tornado before slamming towards Baby. Baby and Uubu go into another energy beam showdown. Meanwhile, Gokuu tells the others to stop pulling, because he has a better idea. In the next scene, Dai Kaiou-shin is complaining about being tied to the boulder himself, and Kaiou-bit is asking what the idea is. Gokuu tells the old coot to grab his tail with the pincers, powers up a bit, and starts walking foward at his own pace. The tail begins to emerge inch by inch. The tail reaches full length, Kaiou-bit comments on this, the old coot lets go of the pincers, and Gokuu goes flying away to smash into a distant boulder. Using binoculars, Kaiou-bit announces that they've finally succeeded. Gokuu happily waves his tail. The Tsufuru-jin worry about their master, and Baby says that he's done playing. Uubu's blast is returned back at him, and he starts changing. Kaiou-bit teleports to Planet Plant with Gokuu, and they try to locate Uubu. Uubu turns into chocolate, falls to the ground, and is eaten by Baby. Gokuu flies up, upset that he didn't arrive in time to save his friend. Baby comments on Gokuu's still being alive. They taunt each other again, and Gokuu shows his tail to prove that he can defeat Baby now. Baby is not impressed, so Gokuu goes SSJ-3. They fight again, and Gokuu still can't accomplish much. Baby says that the boy is weak, grabs the tail, and flings Gokuu into the ground to make a long trench. Gokuu yells out to ask Dai Kaiou-shin what's wrong. The old coot doesn't know. Gokuu smashes into a boulder, passes out and powers down. Baby thinks that it's over, and flies closer. Gokuu rolls over on his back, and curses at being too weak. Kaiou-bit and Dai Kaiou-shin try to figure out what the problem is. Gokuu stares up at Earth, wishing that he could protect it. He thinks about all of his friends, and how he can't save them. Then, his tail begins to twitch, and his heart starts speeding up in reaction to the light from the Full Earth. Gokuu begins transforming into a were-monkey, to the joy of Kaiou-bit and Dai Kaiou-shin. This time, the transformation includes a power up, and lots of damage to the countryside. Baby doesn't understand what's happening. Gokuu starts out as a giant brown were-monkey, and keeps changing to become a giant golden were-monkey (ougon oozaru). Using Vejiita's memories, Baby realizes that the light from the Full Earth has turned Gokuu into an oozaru. The Narrator asks if Gokuu's long-awaited change-over is enough to defeat Baby. More on the Ougon Ouzaru (Golden Giant Monkey): V-Jump issue #3 (1997) describes in a little more detail things that won't be mentioned in the TV series for a while. First and foremost, Gokuu is NOT becoming Super Saiya-jin 4. He is becoming Super Gokuu 4. Basically, the nature of SSJ1 to SSJ3 revolves around the length and color of the hair, plus the amount of bulk on the body. But, Gokuu's hair is black again, and he essentially looks like he did as an adult. The differences being that now, most of his body is covered in red fur, and his eyes are also outlined in red. And, he has his tail. According to V-Jump, Gokuu-4 may actually be the true Legendary Super Saiya-jin. Since Saiya-jin never pulled out their tails, it seems likely that if a Saiya-jin went ballistic, it would be during the Ouzaru phase. And, Gokuu's going ballistic before, (SSJ1) occurred when he didn't have his tail. Either way, the only way to accomplish Gokuu-4 is first, to have his tail extracted from his body again (regrown). Next, look at the full moon/Earth/whatever and turn into a golden were-monkey (not a normal occurance, since most Saiya-jin Ouzaru have brown fur). Finally, make the power up (which involves either great rage, or longing) to Gokuu-4. Gokuu-4 is a LOT more powerful than SSJ-3 is. But, since Vejiita-Baby can also become a Ougon Ouzaru, there is a chance that Vejiita-Baby can still remain stronger than Gokuu-4 is. Gokuu goes crazy, and Vejiita-Baby remembers the destruction rendered on Plant by the old Saiya-jin. He refuses to lose to a Saiya-jin again. He tries a Revenge Death Ball, but Gokuu interrupts him and bashes him senseless. Pan feels a ki, and thinking that it is her father's, she flies to the scene of the fighting, leaving Satan confused on the ground (Satan still can not sense the energy of other people). Vejiita-Baby wakes up, pissed. Gokuu has fun wrecking buildings with Vejiita-Baby's body (Gokuu has a guided flame that he can breathe on people.) Pan flies with Satan to the city, and she wonders why Gokuu has turned into a monkey. Satan believes that Pan is mistaken, and that this giant monkey is just some stranger blowing stuff up. Chichi, Bulma, and Videl are trapped underground with a bunch of other Tsufuru-jin, and they complain about the problems that the Saiya-jin is causing them. On their planet, Dai Kaiou-shin and Kaiou-bit discuss what is happening, while the old coot is speculating on why Gokuu has no control while in his current Ougon Oozaru (Golden Giant Monkey) form. They still think that Gokuu should be reaching SSJ4 while in SSJ3 form. Pan tries to stop Gokuu, but he attacks her. Gokuu creates a volcano in the ground, runs to a safe distance, and pounds his chest. Suguro's friend (who had been the tricky dice from the game) is a small shape-changer that looks a little like Suguro does now. Suguro asks his friend to turn into a pair of scissors so that Kaiou-bit can teleport in and snip off Gokuu's tail. But, Dai Kaiou-shin yells at them. The old coot wants to wait until Gokuu can defeat Vejiita-Baby (which is barely possible right now.) Maybe this is how Gokuu with turn SSJ4, but Dai Kaiou-shin doesn't understand how it might happen. Gokuu, meanwhile, is creating a whole chain of volcanoes, and yelling "yatta" ("I did it!") in a high-pitched monkey voice. He sees the Earth again (first reflected in a pool, then again directly in the sky.) He wanders off. Vejiita-Baby decides to use Vejiita's abilities to fight Gokuu. Pan flies after her father, and Satan lags far behind. The monkey tries to keep climbing the mountain to reach Earth, but he can't go any farther after reaching the top. Pan comments that Gokuu misses Earth. Gokuu doesn't recognize her and hits her to the ground. Pan's gi falls out of her pack, and she remembers when she had been in her first Tenkai-ichi Budoukai. She shows her gi to Gokuu, and her blows her away. A photo floats out of a pocket in the gi, and Gokuu looks at it. It is a picture of the family at the beach, taken when Pan was a baby. Pan flashes back to the fun they'd had at that time. She tries to make the monkey remember, and cries from sadness. The monkey licks her tears, and looks from her to the photo, and back. He is confused. Then he pushes the girl out of the way of his view of Earth. He starts powering up -- turning into a black haired man with lots of muscles, and covered in red fur. He screams a lot, and there is lightning all around him. Pan doesn't understand what is happening, and Baby is concerned at the ki level he is feeling. Gokuu continues to yell, and lightning flashes around him as he changes. His true self breaks through, and the mountain he is on collapses. In the rubble is Gokuu 4 (He looks like the adult Gokuu, with a little more muscle, long black hair, red fur over his torso, and red lining his eyes.) Pan freaks over the new change, thinking that it is really cool. Dai Kaiou-shin celebrates, claiming that this is his responsibility. Pan complains about all the destruction that Gokuu made. Satan hopes that Gokuu is now strong enough to defeat Baby, and Gokuu comments that his strength may be enough. He senses Vejiita-Baby's ki and flies off, leaving Satan to care for Pan (ignoring Pans questions about who he is now.) Vejiita-Baby is trying to figure out why Vejiita's body is not turning into a were-monkey when he looks at the full Earth, and Bulma says that he is missing his tail. Gokuu busts into Capsule Corp., and Bulma runs away. Gokuu calls her name. As a Tsufuru-jin, Bulma turns, sneers, and condemns him to Hell. Vejiita-Baby and Gokuu fight. Dai Kaiou-shin wonders why Gokuu isn't fighting full-out. Gokuu lets himself get punched up, then complains that Vejiita-Baby's blows are weak. Vejiita-Baby goes into a rage and creates a big Revenge Death Ball. Gokuu just stands on the ground, watching as the huge black star inches towards him. The Ball crushes into the ground and explodes. Dai Kaiou-shin panics, and Vejiita-Baby is panting heavily. Vejiita-Baby can't believe his eyes when he sees Gokuu standing on a pillar in the middle of the big crater. Dai Kaiou-shin complains about the shock to his heart just now. Gokuu tells Vejiita-Baby that V-B can not beat him now. V-B freaks. Gokuu does some damage to Vejiita-Baby, and Bulma panics that her master is going to get killed. V-B tries to get Gokuu to remember that Vejiita is going to die too. Gokuu comments that Baby still doesnt understand that Saiya-jin live to fight, and accept death as a side- effect. They fight. Bulma calls out that she's about to help her husband, using a focus multiplier to take the Earth's light and magnify it enough to turn V-B into a were-monkey even without the tail. Gokuu is about to kill Vejiita-Baby with Kamehame-ha, and Bulma turns on the multiplier. Vejiita-Baby isn't ready, but he turns into a were-monkey anyway. Dai Kaiou-shin notices that the new golden monkey DOES have a tail, and he doesn't know what this will mean. Baby trashes his own planet, and easily bats Gokuu out of the sky. Gokuu can't believe golden oozaru Vejiita-Baby's power, and it looks like this just might be the warm-up to SSJ4 Baby. Bulma calls out for Vejiita-Baby to kill the evil Gokuu. Gokuu is still alive, but hurting. Golden Oozaru Baby is laughing and about to finish Gokuu off. The citizenry is cheering their leader on. Suddenly, Baby's body starts sparking, and the city takes some more damage. Baby's body is starting to suffer from the delayed effects of the Times 10 Kamehame-ha, although Baby denies that this is possible. Gokuu recovers a little, and they taunt each other some more before bashing away again. They KO each other and drop to the ground. Dai Kaiou-shin takes some time to convince Kaiou-bit this is NOT the time to teleport Gokuu to safety. Dai Kaiou-shin wants Kaiou-bit to get the Chou-sui (Magic Water that supposedly was at the top of Karin Tower) and give it to Trunks and Gokuu's kids. Kaiou-bit has to explain to Suguro that the Chou-sui water is capable of cleansing the evil away from whatever it is splashed on. Kaiou-bit teleports out, then back -- he doesn't know where the Chou-sui water is. Dai Kaiou-shin yells that it is in Dende's palace. Kaiou-bit teleports to the palace, evades Mr. Poppo (who is outside sweeping the floor), then enters a room where there are MANY jars of water. He can't find the real Chou-sui container, and is interrupted by Dende and Mr. Poppo (they accuse him of sneaking inside like a cat burglar). There is a water fight, and Kaiou-bit is losing. Finally, he throws the real Chou-sui water at Mr. Poppo, and it starts working (Poppo goes into spasms, and a red cloud of vapor leaves his body.) Dende also gets some in the face. Eventually, both Dende and Mr. Poppo are healed. Kaiou-bit takes more of the water and teleports to Trunks. Neither Mr. Poppo nor Dende remember what happened during their possession by Baby, and they are confused as to what Kaiou-bit is up to.
Kaiou-bit runs to Trunks, and gets him to drink the water -- red vapor leaves Trunks' body and he groans a lot. Finally, Trunks wakes up and wonders what Kaiou-bit is doing here. It starts raining on the two unconscious warriors (Baby and Gokuu). Trunks is told what has happened to Earth, and the Tsufuru-jin, and the two of them go to rescue the others. Bulma wakes up, sees Baby on the ground, and starts aiming her satellite on the big ape. Her rays hit him, and she calls out for Baby-sama to recover. Accidently, some of the concentrated Earth light hits Gokuu as well. Baby groans, commenting on the power he is receiving from Bulma's ray. Oozaru Baby gets up, praising Bulma. He powers up, and the shockwave prevents Trunks and Kaiou-bit from getting closer to the city. They drop the water bottle. Gokuu is also ready to start fighting again, and they taunt each other some more. Suguro thinks that Gokuu has a chance, but Dai Kaiou-shin states that the Times 10 Kamehame-ha has drained Gokuu too much and that he will lose now. Gokuu also knows that he has no real power. Baby shouts out, and the air blast blows SSJ4 Gokuu away. But, Gokuu keeps bluffing. Baby stomps forward as Gokuu braces for the worst. Pan and Satan watch on in fear, and Bulma gloats some more. Gohan is being given some of the water. --------------------------- Baby is at full power, and Gokuu is nearly at zero. Baby calls Gokuu's bluff, and beats him up (he shoots many fireballs from his mouth.) Baby knows Gokuu's limits now, and is having fun bashing him into the ground. Pan wants to save her father, and Satan fails to hold her back. Gokuu expects to die now, but Pan gets between him and the giant monkey. She tries to reason with Oozaru Vejiita-Baby, to try to get all of the people, and all of Earth, restored to the way they were before. To no effect. To distract Baby away from Pan, Gokuu tries to threaten the ape with Kamehame-ha again. This doesn't work and Baby gets ready to stomp on Pan. However, Baby gets smashed in the head by an energy blast. Trunks is now floating nearby, and it is clear that he's been cleansed of Baby's influence. Trunks attacks, and Vejiita-Baby counters by pointing out that Trunks is currently bashing up his own father. Trunks pauses, and gets punted away. He's caught by Gohan and Goten. Gokuu sees Kaiou-bit, and realizes that Kaiou-bit must have used the Chou-sui or something. Goten and Trunks want to Fuse into Gotenks, but Gokuu tells them that even Gotenks' great powers aren't enough to stop Baby. Baby, meanwhile, is preparing to attack them all. Gokuu explains that if he is brought back to full power in his current SSJ4 form, using the energy from his sons and Trunks, he can not lose. Pan agrees and also wants to donate her energy. However, Baby has been listening in, and he decides to prevent Gokuu's recovery by getting in the first blow. Gokuu is flown to safety, with Baby blasting away closely behind. Gokuu uses Tenshin-han's "Blinding Light" attack. Baby trips and falls into a deep pit. Trunks, Gohan and Goten get into a circle around Gokuu and try to power up. Baby recovers and tries to use Vejiita's standard energy blast on them. But, Baby is seized by stomach spasms -- Baby has a flashback to his battle with Uubu. He realizes now that Uubu had allowed himself to be eaten, and is now causing Baby a severe tummy ache. Baby fights back by trying to tighten his stomach. Uubu yells out for Gokuu to regain his full power level. Trunks, Pan, Gohan, and Goten get into a circle and donate their energy to Gokuu. Satan worries for Pan, saying that she is not a "super"-whatever. Kaiou-bit assures Satan that Pan will be fine. Baby squeezes harder, and contracts down on Uubu. There's lots of lightning around the circle, and Gokuu is getting better quickly. Uubu gets spit out onto the ground, and Baby is about to use Vejiita's attack again. Vejiita-Baby yells out "Super Jankyuu Four", and fires away. The donators are just short of getting Gokuu to full power, and they stay in the circle until the blast hits them. Baby is convinced that he has killed all five humans, and madly plans to take over the galaxy. The bodies of Goten, Trunks, and Gohan are scattered limply in the sand when the smoke clears. Satan rushes forward, and cries as he realizes that his granddaughter has been vaporized. Satan threatens Baby, and Gokuu tells him to calm down. The last of the smoke clears from the sky, revealing Gokuu. He is holding the unconscious Pan in his arms, and he is clearly at full power again. Satan thanks Gokuu, and is told to get to safety. The others all recover consciousness and realize how much energy Gokuu has. Gokuu asks Baby what he'll do against him now, and Baby gets pissed. Gokuu and Vejiita-Baby both power up and blast away at each other. The ground gets chewed up some more. In the next lull, Gokuu is looking very confident. Next week's episode title is NOT the one given in Newtype. And, the preview for next week's show has Baby, no longer a were-monkey, trying to escape planet Plant in a spaceship. The ship is being pushed into the sun by Gokuu's Kamehame-ha, while Pan is begging Gokuu to stop and not kill Vejiita There is more of an explosion from both fighters as the rest of the world looks on gape-jawed. Gokuu and Baby face off as the smoke clears, and both of them claim to be able to defeat the other. In anticipation of a good fight, they go into a running attack, throwing energy balls at each other. They work up a sweat and take a breather, allowing Gohan, Trunks, and Goten to speculate that Gokuu has taken serious damage. Pan objects to this, believing that Gokuu can not lose this one. On Dai Kaiou-shin's planet, the old coot is watching the contest on his crystal ball. Kaiou-bit teleports in and asks how it's going. Dai Kaiou-shin roughs up Kaiou-bit and gets the younger Kaiou-shin to root blindly for Gokuu. Kaiou-bit says that he's got the Chou-sui water, and they start planning on how to use it on the infected Earthlings. Baby is showing signs of wear, and Gokuu taunts him for tiring so quickly, and threatening to become boring. Baby takes the bait and fires off a major energy ball. It misses, and Gokuu makes fun of the ape. Baby goes full out, launching a series of cutting disks. Which also miss. Gokuu likes Baby's attempt, and just stands in place as Baby ends up making a large lake of molten lava. Gokuu loses track of Baby in the steam, and the golden Oozaru takes the opportunity to create a massive Revenge Death Ball -- it's his ultimate one-shot, and he launches it at SSJ4 Gokuu. Baby is happy with his RDB, and Gokuu struggles to keep it from plowing over him. Pan has to be restrained from running up to help her grandfather. The ball crushes forward, pushing Gokuu deep into a cliff side. Baby hopes for the best (Gokuu's death), while Gokuu uses thoughts of his children as the reason to keep fighting to the very end. He bulks up some more, and absorbs the energy from the Revenge Death Ball; it turns into a tornado and dissapates. Gokuu tells Baby that Baby can't win that way, and he powers up in preparation to firing Kamehame-ha. Baby seems to have forgotten how to use Kamehame-ha to enter an enemy's body. He gets hit by the blast and goes flying into the air. He lands where Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Pan, Uubu, and Satan are hiding. They scatter, then return to look at the motionless were-monkey embedded in the ground. Pan asks if he's dead, and Gohan says no, he can still hear a heartbeat. Gokuu floats up, smiling happily at his foe. Pan cheers him on to kill Baby, and is reminded that Vejiita will die also. Pan forgot about that, but Trunks says it's ok -- if Baby dies, countless innocent lives will be saved in the long run. Gokuu thinks a bit, then fires a blast into Baby's back. Trunks yells and turns away. When the light fades, we see that Gokuu has completely blown off Baby's tail. The monkey screams as he reverts back to Vejiita-Baby's earlier form. Baby tries to figure out what's happening, and concludes that he can't remain an oozaru without the tail. He doesn't need Vejiita's body anymore, and oozes out to the ground. Satan chases the silvery bouncing ball, until it stops and Baby takes on his true shape again. Satan starts apologizing, and the 4 Saiya-jin halfbreeds encircle him. Baby emits a bright light and escapes. Pan tells this to her granddad, and Gokuu reminds them of Vejiita. Trunks comforts his battered father, and Vejiita and Gokuu trade knowing smiles. Baby flies to where Bulma is waiting with a big green space ship. She offers to give her master all of the energy from the Tsufuru-jin so that he can resume fighting. However, Baby bats her away and flies off in the ship (Bulma keeps calling "Baby-sama".) Pan is afraid that the monster will escape, but Gokuu is just biding his time until the ship is in line with the sun. He fires off Kamehame-ha. Baby senses the great "ki" from the Super Saiya-jin before disintegrating into a machine-parts filled vapor. Gokuu can't feel Baby's ki anymore, and Pan rejoices at her granddad's victory. Later, at Dende's palace, Pan is complaining that after reverting from SSJ4 form, Gokuu is once again a small child. She remembers him as a Super Saiya-jin 4, and the boy says that he can now go SSJ4 on command. Pan wants him to do that for her at parties. Kaiou-bit hands over a Chou-sui flask, and it is poured down on Earth as a light rain. Turns out that "Baby" City wasn't destroyed by Baby after all (either that, or it was secretly restored again.) Kuririn, Maron, and #18 return to normal very quickly and wonder what is going on. Gohan and Kaiou-bit go to Plant and give sips of water to the Tsufuru-jin there. Videl and Bulma stand around in wonder. Gokuu is thinking that everything is ok now, as the Earth starts to break up. Gokuu argues with Dende -- this isn't supposed to happen because he'd brought back the Dragon Balls within one year like he was supposed to do. Dende falls to his knees and apologizes for having given the Balls to Baby to use. Pan does a quick calculation, and discovers that even if they get the Balls again, it will be two weeks too late to restore the Earth. Then, things get interesting. Newtype lists episode 40 as: Everyone Escape!! 5 Seconds Before Earth Explodes
However, the Toei web site gives a preview for the next 2 week's shows. According to the web site, episode 40 was to be This is How It Ends! Finally, Baby's Extinction
Which of course is the episode that actually aired last week. This implies that Toei actually created artwork for "Kutabare Bebii", but had pulled that episode for some reason. What makes things more interesting is that the real episode 40 doesn't have the same name that Newtype lists as being episode 40. Unfortunately, the Toei Studios page doesn't have the preview for episode 41 posted -- that would have made things much more tantalizing. I'm wondering too whether Toei will correct the episode numbering on their page next week, or if they'll perpetuate it.
And now, the summary for the real episode 40.
Dende's Dragon Balls can not be used for two more weeks. The heroes recap the problem, and watch as the Earth starts to slowly fall apart. Vejiita is angry that Baby had used his body without permission, and the group (Gokuu, Vejiita, Pan, Trunks, and Mr. Satan) go to Capsule Corp. to use the spaceship to try to track down the Balls again. Bulma, Gohan, and Chichi interrupt them, thinking that they're just running off to play without explaining themselves first. The heroes state that Earth is going to self-destruct soon, which comes as a shock to Bulma, Chichi, and Gohan. Vejiita suggests that they try moving everyone to planet Plant, but no one would want to leave the Earth. Eventually, they realize that Satan is in the ship with them, and he's the only one that can help right now. Soon, Satan is announcing to the world that the Earth is going to explode soon, but the reluctant humans don't believe even Satan; until the next big earthquake. Suddenly, everyone is more willing to listen. Satan states that there are certain people that will be wearing "Mr. Satan" buttons. The humans are to look for these people as their way to get off Earth and onto planet Plant. (Vejiita refuses to wear his button.) Gokuu has gone SSJ4, and can teleport again. Large lines form, as people touch shoulders with each other; whole stadiums of people get teleported this way by Gokuu and Kiou-bit. Meanwhile, whole fleets of spaceships take off. We get to see EVERYONE that has ever appeared in the TV series and movies. (Pilaf, Tenshinhan and Chau-zu, the Money family, the old dog that was mayor when Daimaoh Piccolo terrorized the Earth.) One group of punks want to stay on Earth and play video games. Goten can't get them to agree to go, so Vejiita zips in and KO's all of them.
[Commercial Message]
Earth is nearly abandoned, and the quakes are getting worse. The heroes struggle to gets all of the animals aboard a CC ship. Some dinosaurs won't fit, so Gokuu has to teleport them himself. A news crew is sticking around until the last moment, and they run to the CC ship in a panic. There are a few people left on Earth that haven't gotten on the ship -- Gokuu senses their ki's, and teleports out to save them (a drunk, a shipwrecked couple, and a meditating hermit.) Gokuu brings them back to the ship. A farm couple had been struggling to save all of their animals, and they finally succeed. But, they forgot about their son and pet dog. The ship takes off. The boy and his dog almost get killed as they fall into a chasm when the Earth gives its final heaves. They are saved by Piccolo. Gokuu zips in, takes the boy and dog, and tries to teleport back to the ship.
